Nigerians over the years remain undeterred to cross the dangerous Mediterranean sea to arrive Europe in search of speculated green pasture,imagine losing over 30,000 lives to the unnecessary risk. Though their ignorance can be understood given the current economic hardship coupled with the hard recession in the country, their failure to notice that the Nigerian environment is veritable and many business opportunities remain unharnessed is typical of an Abroad sensitive Nigerian. I am strongly of the believe that if this migration menace to get to Europe remain inadequately unchecked then our future reserve of human capital will be almost depleted.The Federal government must act in its right senses to provide jobs using expansionary monetary policy, while placing a keen eye on its inflationary tendencies or wait later when our human capital have being totally exported and then spend more on making up for lost capital in the future.
The migrants also have a brunt to face in the future.This stems from the fact that excessive exportation of human capital leads to under capacity utilization in the domestic country which dampens output and hence income on the long run leading to excessive poverty.Those Abroad would now be faced with increased task of providing for their families here in Nigeria to the detriment of their own purse leaving them worse off.
Most times as frequently observed, when a migrant is faced with repatriation, he becomes mentally retarded and on arrival in Nigeria he/she immediately becomes a liability to the society and the family leading to a loss of potential human capital and increased expenses of the deported migrants family since they they are now being faced with the responsibility of catering for the retarded deportee.
CONCLUSION
From the foregoing analysis, it becomes sacrosanct and imperative to know that the Government and migrants are worse off and the step in the right direction would be the recognition of the fact that government provide business conducive atmosphere and the citizens start developing ideas to fatten their purses within our borders rather than taking illegal means to reach Europe and involving in dehumanizing activities over there.
